The University of Strathclyde incorporated under the Universities (Scotland) Act 1889 and having its principal office at 16 Richmond Street, Glasgow G1 1XQ,a registered Scottish charity in terms of Section 13 (2) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (Charity Number: SC015263).Strathclyde is one of the top 20 research intensive universities in the UK, with an annual spend of competitively won research income in excess of $100M. The University has invested strongly within the research base through its Global Talent Attraction Programme, an inter-disciplinary approach across seven Strategic Research Themes: Advanced manufacturing & materials, Energy, Health & Wellbeing, Innovation & entrepreneurship, Measurement science & enabling technologies, Ocean, air and space, Society & Policy.The Health & Wellbeing theme encompasses Strathclyde’s Institute for Medical Devices, the emerging neurotechnology initiative and the established Centre for Biophotonics.
