Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences (Czech Republic)

The Institute of Scientific Instruments (ISI) belongs to the prestigious public research institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences. It employs ca 70 researchers (FTE) and >20 PhD students. The main areas of ISI research are magnetic resonance imaging, electron microscopy and microanalysis, photonics and applications of lasers (optical levitation, laser nanometrology and spectroscopy), with a strong focus on development of scientific instruments. The institute is supported by grants from, amongst others, the European Regional Development Fund, the Ministry for Education youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade and The Czech Science Foundation (GA ČR).
